What Are Ya’ Buyin? - Fatass Edition

May 20th, 2008

Now that GTA IV has come and gone, new releases are slowly starting to show their stupid non-GTAey faces. The biggest title this week is the pop-phenom Wii Fit followed by long awaited PS3 shooter Haze, although it’s getting a less than warm reception.

What Are Ya’ Buyin? - GT5 Prologue Edition

April 14th, 2008

After last week’s dismal releases, things are looking up, unless you’re a 360 gamer. The biggest release is Gran Turismo 5: Prologue on the PS3, the gorgeous, but limited “preview” of Sony’s upcoming racer. Wii owners can get a wagglefied port the highly rated PS2 game Okami. Those of you who prefer to exchange points for games can get Rocky and Bullwinkle and Battlezone on the Arcade or Mega Turrican and Fantasy Zone on the Virtual Console.

What Are Ya’ Buyin? - Saving Up for GTAIV Edition

April 7th, 2008

Gamers are getting a break this week with no new releases on the PS3 or 360 and nothing worth mentioning for the Wii and handhelds. Fortunately the download games are pretty good, with the classic color-coded top-down shooter Ikaruga on XBLA and NES classics Bases Loaded and Yoshi’s Cookie hitting the Virtual Console.

What Are Ya Buyin’? - CoD4 Again Edition

March 31st, 2008

It’s pretty bad when the highest profile title for the week is a re-release.

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Slice and Dice Edition

March 25th, 2008

Let’s go ahead and get this going! Dark Sector, the third person, blade thrower slices onto the 360 and PS3 along with the Viking-inspired hack-and-slash Viking: Battle for Asgard. The Wii makes its O-face and FFVII: Crisis Core comes out on the PSP!

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Back to Vegas Edition

March 17th, 2008

The big game this week is Rainbow Six Vegas 2: Electric Boogaloo for the 360 and PS3. Following up on the holiday ‘06 original, the sequel sports some new features, most notably a COD4 type experience system, but has cut the co-op from 4 to 2 for the Campaign. The PS3 is having a big week with Condemned 2: Bloodshot (originally slated for last week) hitting along with Hot Shots Golf, and some Booster Packs for our Eye of Judgment fans out there. You know who you are.

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Super Smash Brothers Bloodshot Edition

March 10th, 2008

Topping the list this week is the Nintendo fan’s wet dream, Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii. If you are getting this game, than you already know exactly what’s in store, so I won’t waste your time here. The hobo smashing Condemned 2: Bloodshot is also hitting, pun intended, stores this week for the 360 and PS3.

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Army of Two Bullies Edition

March 3rd, 2008

Topping the list this week is the oft-delayed co-op shooter Army of Two for the PS3 and 360. Hopefully the extra time given this game paid off. Baseball fans are getting Major League Baseball 2K8 for the 360, Ps3, and Wii, while the impressive looking MLB08: The Show is only coming out for PS3.

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Colon Crazy Edition

February 25th, 2008

After last week’s dismal releases, this batch of new games has some interesting titles, despite the blatent overuse of colons and subtitles. The highest profile title this week is the rhythm-strategy game Patapon for the PSP. Also click to find out what game won the first ever Shovelware Shit if the Week Award!

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Economic Stimulus Edition

February 18th, 2008

Much like the US Government’s economic stimulus package, this week’s batch of releases is designed to keep money in the hands of consumers. The “big” titles this week are The Club, the lap-based FPS from Bizarre Creations, FIFA Street 3, the “real” football game featuring really disturbing player models, and the hack and slash Dynasty Warriors 6.

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Lost Odyssey Edition

February 11th, 2008

There is quite the mix of games this week. The big game this week is Lost Odyssey for the Xbox360. If JRPGs aren’t your thing, check out Commanders: Attack of Genos, the Advanced Wars inspired strategy game for XBLA. If you missed it the first time, Ninja Gaiden Black is up on Xbox Originals and Harvest Moon is up on the Virtual Console. You can see the full list inside.

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Dino May Cry Edition

February 4th, 2008

We have some good games releasing across all platforms this week. Topping the list is Devil May Cry 4 and Turok on the 360 and PS3. Demos are available for both so check them out. Eye of Judgment fans may want to check out the card game Culdcept Saga for the 360.

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Bomberman Edition

January 28th, 2008

There’s not much releasing this week. The 360, PS3 and even the PS2 have nothing new hitting retail shelves and the Wii isn’t doing much better with only Bomberman Live coming out. The handheld systems are getting in on the Bomberman action as well with Bomberman Land on the PSP and Bomberman Land Touch! 2 on the DS. Bomberman everywhere!

What Are Ya Buyin’? - Paradise Edition

January 21st, 2008

After a few dismal weeks of new releases, we’re finally getting some games worth talking about. Topping the list is Burnout Paradise for the Xbox360 and PS3. Opinions on the demo have been mixed due to the new open-world aspect but the game looks great. For the Wii we have No More Heroes from the same studio behind Killer 7.
