For those of you that need a name to be behind it, the comic is written by Ed Brubaker. He’s penned a slew of books, including Daredevil, X-Men, and Captain America. And yes - he’s the guy that killed Captain America. Brubaker also wrote Batman, but wasn’t behind that whole RIP thing at all.

Incognito - a five-issue creator-owned miniseries published by Marvel - is a bit of a departure for Brubaker, following the exploits of a former supervillain who was put into the witness protection program after testifying. It’s a little more complicated than that, but I don’t want to spoil anything.

Fortunately for the world at large, the villain in question (who goes by the name Zach…) doesn’t have his powers anymore thanks to a schedule of performance-decreasing drugs he’s forced to take.

Forced to take, that is, until he gets hooked up with some of those ’smoke all the pot you want and still pass drug tests’ herbs…and that’s where the story really gets interesting.

Incognito is a new look at the hero/villain dynamic and worth checking out. Issue 2 should be on stands now, and if you look you’ll find the first issue at the same time.

Streak for Cash is ESPN’s version of pussy betting for sports fans, like myself, who are either poor or afraid to bet on sports because of how addicted and poor they may become shortly after they begin their sports betting careers. Streak for Cash is a game in which you try to pick winners for sporting events that ESPN gives you (usually at least 10 different options to pick from, from MMA to NBA to PGA) and if you just so happen to get 25 in a row then you win a million dollars. I always seem to get fucked, but that’s the way betting goes. I picked the San Antonio Spurs the other night to win against the Denver Nuggets, because I saw the Nuggets play against the Hornets a night or two before and they played horribly. Spurs are picking it up, second in the Western Conference, no brainer right?..And what happens? The Spurs’ coach Greg Popovich decides to sit Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker the whole game when they have a four day rest coming up after the game. 55 points of your lineup out..that’s a loss for the Spurs and one for my Streak of Cash.

Streak for Cash is sports betting for the mentally challenged, and I drool every time I look at the new bets up to further my streak as I inch closer to the 25 mark. According to this professor, it’s not understanding the basic concepts of the exponential function. Anything that grows at a constant rate rapidly becomes unsustainable, which should give us pause for a moment just to wonder if growth is actually the best metric of an economy’s success. (Video is very long, but you can get the gist of where he’s going within the first few minutes. Nerds might enjoy watching the whole thing)

Today I would like to shine the spotlight on one of the Boards unsung heroes. Chernobyled.

Cherno, as he is lovingly referred to, is a man of mystery to most. We know he used to work for the government in some capacity, was part of a frat house while in college, and if pressed can give your mother cancer. He loves to “troll” which causes quite a bit of drama at times, and as far as we know he’s never been wrong about anything. Well as far as he knows anyway. A man of few words might say that he is a “douche” or a “bitch”. But you need to look deeper to get a real connection to the man.

For the first time ever the story of Cherno will be told by me to you. Why? Because you deserve it.

Cherno was born in a small log cabin in the Virgina woods. With no electricity he had to entertain himself in other ways. These included things like baiting his siblings into arguments about how long it would be before his father sent his mother packing because of her bad cooking.

Being stuck in the cabin his education wasn’t what it should be so he thought cooking started with a K. He called his mother a Bad “Kook” or BK for short. “Moms a BK, dads gonna send her packing in two weeks!” he would tell his siblings and they would cry themselves to sleep while Cherno smiled and dreamt of his new mom who would undoubtedly have large breasts.

As time went on Cherno accepted the fact that his mom would not be sent packing as he’d hoped and learned to live with her BK meals. When he turned 13 years old Cherno thought it was time to set out on his own. He left his log cabin and family behind and set off for the big city. The city was harsh and he found himself living a life on the streets. But Cherno being Cherno he found ways to make it sound better than it actually was. He would meet new people and he would tell them that he was doing well because he was MLG. This stood for Mostly Living in Gutters so it wasn’t a lie, but people didn’t know that and would nod approvingly when he told them.

When Cherno turned 18 he decided it was time for College. He had no formal education but he had heard tales from the older homeless people of “Fraternities” and from the sounds of it you didn’t need much book learning to get in. So he packed up all of his belongings, which consisted of a six year old used toothbrush, a discarded briefcase with a large hole in it, and a pickle jar full of pennies, and headed to the nearest college campus.

• If you’re in a tight spot, and you’re in front, please crouch. If you’re leading the conga line, and someone shoots you in the head, it’s your own damn fault.

• Always close the doors behind you. Just like in real life, doors are the most effective weapon against zombies. This strategy only applies to the last person to go through said door. Don’t close the door on people you sumbitch! You know who you are.

• Once you enter the safe room, or any area of close proximity, please don’t throw a moltov. Why would you do that? Why?

• When throwing a pipe bomb, let your team know. You’re not the only one with that bright idea, and there’s no need for 3 people to throw a pipe bomb at the same time.

• If someone’s thrown a pipe bomb, don’t start shooting their zombies. That’s fucked up, guy.

• Don’t pick up the Hunting Rifle. You’ll look like an asshole and we’ll all laugh at you.

• If you decide to rush and your team isn’t, you’re the asshole, not us. You deserve to get your tits ripped off by a hunter.

• Sometimes, if you’re playing with a really horrible teammate, it’s okay to kill them. Honestly, it’s for the best. Play it off like an accident, but the rest of us will understand and thank you later when he’s not around.

• If you made it to the safe room, don’t fucking leave. Look, you won. Those that are out there dying are the losers. Help your fellow man, but once the safe room is in sight, all bets are off.

• When you get downed, let a brother know. “hephephephep” is probably the most effective way to get a teammates attention, but don’t call my mother a cum guzzling whore because then I won’t want to help you.

• When you see a witch, leave her alone. She will fuck your shit up, and we will let her. Natural Selection is a bitch.

• I’m sure you think it’s really funny to close the safe room door on someone over and over again, but it’s not. I could have died. Not cool.

• There’s no point in healing up in the safe room for more point. It doesn’t work like that. The use of health packs are averaged in, it’s just a waste of time.

These are just a few ways to make your stay in zombie hell a little more enjoyable. And always remember, if you pick Francis you’re probably a fag.

Recently re-watched the 1st and (short) 2nd seasons on my 360 thanks to the great Netflix feature, something I’m really starting to take advantage of. The show dealt with a small Kansas town struggling in the aftermath of a crippling nuclear strike, their attempts to survive and, ultimately, to rebuild. I’ll try to be vague, but spoilers follow.

***SPOILER ALERT***

Without giving too much away, the show ends with the prospect of a Constitutional Convention and possibly a Civil War - an effort to re-establish the devastated and fragmented United States. This could have been fertile ground for a number of interesting plot lines: exploring the challenges of creating a new Constitution, the new leaders who would emerge and step up, the efforts it would take to minimize the corrupting influences of foreign and corporate interests, and various other power struggles.

*** END SPOILERS***

While the show’s fanbase was able to convince CBS to bring the drama back for a (shortened) second season through a grassroots “nuts” campaign based on a famous WW2 quote featured in the show, any attempts to revive Jericho appear dead. Even as is, however, there is a satisfying dramatic end to the show. If you’re looking for an entertaining well-paced show with timely themes to add to your Netflix queue, give Jericho a shot.

AFC - Ravens at Titans - 4:30 EST

The Ravens are quickly becoming everyone’s favorite pick after they dismantled the Dolphins, but I would pick the Titans to win this one. Flacco on the road against one of the best defenses in the playoffs is not a wise choice in my opinion. As much as I love Ed Reed and the boys, I have to go with the Tennessee Titans because of their defense (who has time to rest), an experienced Kerry Collins, and a solid ground game with Chris Johnson and LenDale White. Let’s just hope gamester doesn’t go into fag mode…

NFC - Cardinals at Panthers - 8:15 EST

No one is giving the Cardinals a chance in this game especially after Vegas has the Panthers favored by ten at home. I’m going to go with the crowd and pick the Carolina Panthers because the Cards are inconsistent and I don’t think they can go into Carolina and contain the “Smash ‘N Dash” of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Of all the games this weekend, this has the most potential for a blowout.

NFC - Eagles at Giants - 1:00 EST

Definitely the most intriguing game for the East Coast media. The third clash of these NFC East combatants should prove to be interesting since you never know what version of the Eagles is going to show up. I’m going to have to side with a consistent running game at home. If Plaxico Burress was still on the Giants, I would feel more confident picking the G men. The Eagles have a good secondary and could give the Giant wide receivers’ headaches. Add that in with Jim Johnson’s blitzing schemes and an Eagles upset is highly probable.

AFC - Chargers at Steelers - 4:45 EST

I know I’m starting to sound like a robot, but RUNNING GAME, DEFENSE, and HOME FIELD. Steelers are a no brainer pick for me. They have a great defense and I think they’ll be able to shut down any running attack from the Chargers. LT is hurt and Sproles is nice and quick, but so is the Steelers defense. Chargers, even though last week could fool you, have a pretty abysmal defense when it comes to the run. Joe Addai and the Colts scheme (last in the NFL in rush yard per game) couldn’t exploit this, but I think the Steelers line and Willie Parker and company will gash the Bolts. The Steelers are favored by 6 points and I would DEFINITELY pick the Steelers to cover in the frigid Heinz field on Sunday if I was a betting man.

So there you have it, AltBlogger picks the four home teams to advance this round…but you know there will be an upset so you can bash me when that upset happens. Although I did put four number seeds when I filled out my bracket last year for March Madness and was right. ;)

Your eagerness to ring me up and comment on my selections is weird. You should work at Wal-Mart or something you are too loud and annoying to work at the porn store, but I will admit I’d rather deal with you than the transgendered guy that helped me last week.

However, once you’ve used the vehicle and returned to the kitchen, it would be nice if - had you encountered any problems with said vehicle - you’d tell us about it immediately, perhaps in the form of a note passed while you hand us another beer, instead of five hours later when we need to use it. That way we can fix the problem in a timely manner during daylight hours, not in a crazed rush in the dark - plus there’ll be stores open, should we need to buy a part!
