Sony is killing the industry
With the word that Factor Five employees will be joining Free Radical guys on the unemployment lines, it’s time for other companies to take a stand and stop making PS3 exclusives.
Look at the history guys. Free Radical make Haze a PS3 exclusive, leveraging the awesome power of CELL and the Blu Ray. How’d that turn out? They’re out of business.
Factor Five makes Lair, which proved that the SIXAXIS controller was God’s gift to gaming while providing stunning dragons in real-time graphics. Let me say that one more time - REAL-TIME. That game went on to make… Well, I don’t know how much it made but it had to be a fuck of a lot because they don’t have to work anymore.
What’s that? Wait, I’m being handed an update. Okay it seems that they’ve been shut down and they are…what’s that Jimmy? Unemployed? Okay, yes…we’re getting more now and it seems like they have been, as they say on the streets, “laid off” and they aren’t simply on vacation spending millions on hookers and blow as I earlier believed. I apologize for that error.
That just drives home the point, however. The PS3 is killing this industry. Two developers. Two exclusives. Two dead studios.
Stop the insanity. Just say “NO” to PS3 exclusivity.
