Sometimes in this here blog I’m gonna do some short and sweet reviews, I call them short and sweet because thats what they are. Short and to the point because I know people these days hate reading and have the attention span of a fly.
Movies/Blu-Ray
Hellboy 2
If you enjoyed the first Hellboy you’ll like this as well, def worth a rental.
Blu-Ray:
Video/Wow Factor - Not the best I’ve seen but definitely above average.
Supplements - Alot, you get your money’s worth here.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
I don’t even know where to start on this one. Just bad, bad, bad. Horrible story and laughable voicework coupled with a baby Hut = SHIT! The only redeeming quality is the art which looks in my opinion like a painting come to life and when viewed in 1080P.
Blu-Ray
Video/Wow Factor - At times stunning but not quite on Pixar’s level.
Supplements - Not much here.
Bottom Line - Avoid unless you are a Star Wars diehard.
Traitor
This won’t win any awards but if you’re into flicks dealing with terrorism, international conspiracies, the F.B.I. , special ops, and Don Cheadle. Then this isn’t a bad watch/view.
Bottom Line - Rent it.
Games
Mirrors Edge
I happened to finish this game last week and seriously you guys need to go out and buy it, if not at least give it a rental. This was one of the most original games I played all year and the best part is you don’t need to dedicate a whole lot of time to finish it. So for all you guys and gals out there who are busy bodies here is a really great game that you can put an hour into nightly and not have to worry about never finishing it. The other great thing is even if you do plow through the game there is enough replay value to come back for seconds and thirds.
Pros - Short Length (7-8 hours) , amazing visuals and a really original art direction. Addictive gameplay.
Cons - Some frustrating trial and error segments.
Bottom Line - Buy it and show support for original IP.

“no one really cares about the handhelds” - yeah, that’s why the DS has sold 84 million units, and the 360 just 22 million. Moran.
“the Wii is a complete joke” - no, it’s just not catering to hardcore gamers, it’s catering to the general public instead. Which means lots of mediocre titles your average casual gamer will enjoy.
Safecracker looks pretty good, btw - it’s a puzzle adventure game. Again, typical hardcore gamer (probably an XBOT) with your head wedged so firmly up your ass you’ll never see the light of day.

Also, I’m probably not able to be objective here since my wife worked on it, but I didn’t think Clone Wars was all that bad. Worth renting, at least. And as for it not looking as good as a Pixar movie, they literally did it on 1/10th the budget so considering that, I think it looks pretty durn good. :)
Also, I do want Mirror’s Edge but man, I already have way too many games I need to play (with more on the way for Christmas, I’m thinking).

Clone Wars is the first 4 episodes of the Cartoon Series that they decided to make more money off of. Honestly you can’t expect greatness from it.

Guess I came off a little strong — it just gets really old listening to all the hardcore gamers around here put down the Wii just because it doesn’t offer what they’re looking for in a console. I’m not a fan of Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft, I’m just a gamer who sees a lot of one-sided opinions and closed-minded people and it gets to me after a while.
