Rock Band Weekly Download - Classic Rock Plus European DLC Preview
By Stan • About: Featured Articles, Gaming at 11:19 am on April 11 2008It’s Friday, so that means another weekend full of hookers and coke. It also means a new Rock Band DLC announcement from Harmonix. This week’s DLC is the “Classic Rock Pack” featuring masters of:
- Blondie - “Call Me”
- Lynyrd Skynyrd - “Simple Man”
- The Police - “Message in Bottle”
Each song will be 160 MS Points ($1.99) or 440 ($5.49) MS Points for the whole pack. We knew about two of these songs from the old OXM ad, but Blondie came out of nowhere but should be fun. “Message in a Bottle” was a favorite from Guitar Hero 2 and it’s good to see it’s return. If the Classic Rock pack doesn’t do anything for you, you can save that money for some more exotic tunes. On or around May 22, US Rock Band players will be able to download the extra tracks from the European version of Rock Band. No word has been given on exact dates or pricing but the songs will be:
- Blur - “Beetlebum”
- Oasis - “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star”
- Muse - “Hysteria”
- Tokio Hotel - “Through the Monsoon”
- Les Wamaps - “Manu Chao”
- Playmo - “New Wave”
- Die Toten Hosen - “Hier Kommt Alex”
- Juli - “Perfekte Welle”
- H-Block X - “Countdown to Insanity”
- Indochine - “L’Aventurier”
Fans of GH3 should recognize “Hier Kommt Alex” as the catchy German song from the bonus tracks. You can preview the all of the songs below if you need to brush up on your French or German.

nickel and dime? It’s the music industry you can blame for the prices, sir. Thank god Rock Band is releasing songs you can buy separately instead of making Rock Band 2 as soon as they can. I’d much rather have this then the way Guitar Hero does it.
I’m buying the new pack. Nothing in those Euro songs interests me in the slightest though.
There are very few games I’ve gotten as much play time out of as Rock Band. I’ve definitely spent more money on BS games I played for a week than all the money I’ve spent on Rock Band, DLC, and “pimp my drumkit” accessories.

It cost alot when you add it all up (duh) but compared to what Guitar Hero is doing, this shit is priced fairly well. If you play the game alot you get your millage out of it.
classic pack is BOUGHT. blondie is AWESSSSSSSSSSOME. i hope we get some more blondie tracks.
i’m glad to see blur is coming soon. song 2 would be a great addition to rock band.
