Gamers are getting a break this week with no new releases on the PS3 or 360 and nothing worth mentioning for the Wii and handhelds. Fortunately the download games are pretty good, with the classic color-coded top-down shooter Ikaruga on XBLA and NES classics Bases Loaded and Yoshi’s Cookie hitting the Virtual Console. PC gamers without Steam can now buy pieces of the Orange Box individually, so go buy Portal or something. If that’s not your thing, then Assassin’s Creed: Director’s Cut is available, assuming your rig can handle it. This version features four PC-exclusive investigation missions, Rooftop Race Challenge, and the Archer Stealth Assassination Challenge

Finally the Shovelware Shit of the Week is Mini Copter Adventure Flight for the Wii, sporting all the stupidity of last week’s winner, RC Mini Chopper, with an even worse name and all the waggle you can handle.
